The purpose of this website is to have a central directory of seminar announcements to the benefit of the research community. This is a complementary service provided by Theiss Research, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization, headquartered in La Jolla, California, USA and founded in 2006. Theiss Research’s core service is conducting research in a variety of fields.
The general website of Theiss Research is currently unavailable as it is being re-developed and therefore the following is intended to give an overview of Theiss Research.
If you are a scientist interested in applying to funding organizations for funding of your research, Theiss Research can assist you in applying for funding and, if successful, hire you to carry out your funded research. Theiss Research is also interested in having cooperative agreements with federal agencies in the United States.
Theiss Research currently employs 24 scientists who enjoy competitive gross pays and a variety of fringe benefits, including group health, dental, and vision insurance and a 403(b) retirement plan. Because of its highly efficient administration, Theiss Research’s indirect cost rate is substantially lower than that of research universities and other research organizations. This cost-effectiveness and the well-conceived research projects of its scientists have resulted in funding being provided by a variety of organizations, including federal agencies, in particular, NSF, NASA, ONR, NIST, and ARO, foundations, in particular, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, providing funding on behalf of the Foundational Questions Institute and the Future of Life Institute, John Templeton Foundation, and Templeton World Charity Foundation, and prime government contractors, in particular, AECOM, Leidos, and UT-Battelle.
